After having problems with javelin throwing again in May, it turned out that I have had an elbow injury since 2017, which has prevented me from continuing throwing training since then, ”wrote the 22-year-old from Mainz.
In addition, Kaul posted a black and white photo on which he hides his head in his arms. “In order to restore the stability of the elbow, I decided to have surgery. That’s why I was operated on my limb yesterday, ”he explained. The intervention was carried out in the orthopedic clinic in Markgröningen in Swabia. “I’m fine so far, the operation went without any incidents and from tomorrow it will go to rehab or my # roadtotokyo2021,” explained Kaul.
He had considered participating in the German all-around championships in Vaterstetten at the end of August after the Olympic Games in Tokyo and the European Championships in Paris did not take place this year due to the corona pandemic.
At the World Cup in October 2019 in Doha in Qatar, he had surprisingly triumphed with 8691 points and had chosen the youngest decathlon world champion in the history of athletics.
