NFL player DeAndre Baker, Quinton Dunbar accused of paying robbery victims to change testimony: report

NFL defenders, DeAndre Baker and Quinton Dunbar, are reportedly accused of paying the victims of their alleged robbery in return for changing their stories.

The evidence gathered in the case against Baker, who plays for the New York Giants and Dunbar, from the Seattle Seahawks allegedly shows that Dominic Johnson, a friend of the players, is monitoring money exchanges with victims in Dunbar’s law firm, the New York Daily News reported Friday, citing a police order.

The four alleged victims of the Florida robbery told investigators they had been paid to revoke their first statements against Baker and Dunbar, the Daily News said. There is video evidence to support the claims, the newspaper said.

According to the newspaper, Dunbar’s lawyer Michael Grieco, the friend who oversaw the payments, was another unidentified person, and the victims were in Grieco’s office on May 15. The video is reported to show the money being exchanged. Johnson also reportedly admitted to causing the victims to change their stories in an Instagram direct message.

Baker and Dunbar lawyers vehemently deny victim payout.

“Local and federal law enforcement officials have been advised from day one and beyond that the alleged” victims “in this case are actively blackmailing Baker and Dunbar,” Grieco told the Seattle Times. “These men invented a robbery story after waiting an hour to call the police and then immediately started contacting the players who were requesting money.

“My office has received accurate and truthful affidavits that match my client’s independent witness and account. These “victims” are experienced professional criminals who have been arrested and / or convicted of crimes ranging from conspiracies to murder and human trafficking to the submission of a false police report. Mr. Dunbar accepted a polygraph and confirmed that he had not participated in a robbery or witnessed a robbery. “
