Neymar scored the second of PSG’s four goals against Celtic at Parc des Princes

Neil Lennon described Neymar as “angry” after Celtic’s loss to Paris Saint-Germain, but praised Brazilian team-mate Kylian Mbappe.

Celtic ended his trip to France with three games, losing 4-0 to PSG at Parc des Princes.

Mbappe gave the home team the lead in the first minute, before Neymar added a second in the 25th minute.

PSG made major changes in the second half, with substitutes Ander Herrera and Pablo Sarabia scoring for the French champions after the break.

Lennon said his team would benefit from the experience of playing world-class opponents, and he commended them for dealing with the Brazilian striker.

“He was just trying to raise people,” Lennon said Daily record.

“This quality is world class. I’m glad that we adopted it. I don’t think we need to be clear about it.

“Sometimes players have to see the game at this level as it is and how much effort it takes to get there. Hopefully they can take a lot of it physically and mentally.”

Celtic returned home from France, where they also lost 1-2 to Lyon and lost 1-1 to the Veolia Trophy tournament against Nice to strengthen their preparations to defend their Scottish Premiership title.
