NBA player Harrison Barnes has a message for Americans after passing the coronavirus

“Everyone thinks it will happen to someone else or,” If I have it, we hope to be asymptomatic, “but we had three people in my house who contracted it and each of us had a different experience,” CNN said Wednesday evening. “So I would definitely encourage people to be safe.”

Barnes announced earlier this month that he had tested positive for the virus. His mother and wife also had the virus and his wife had the most severe symptoms of all three, he told CNN.

“Just seeing her go through that process was frightening,” he said. “It definitely put things into perspective and now that we’ve gone through it, I encourage everyone else to take Covid very seriously.”

Barnes says he has no symptoms and has not experienced any persistent health effects from the virus and has felt “fantastic” since he started working again before the season.

“Fortunately, I was able to leave it behind,” he said.

The NBA will restart on Thursday in the 2019-2020 season at the Walt Disney World Resort near Orlando, Florida, with a TNT doubleheader: Utah Jazz against New Orleans Pelicans and Los Angeles Clippers against Los Angeles Lakers.

Twenty-two of the league’s 30 teams will take part in the restart of the season.

Earlier this week, the league and player union announced that none of the 344 players who have been tested since July 20 tested positive for coronavirus.

Since the NBA decided to create a “bubble” at Disney World Resort to reduce the risk of coronavirus exposure, only two players have proven positive – and that was between July 7th and July 13th.

“I think the NBA is doing everything it can to make sure that we respect a very high standard for health protocols here and we try to keep everyone safe by trying to play this game and we hope to send everyone home healthy,” he said. Barnes.

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver said that if an outbreak occurs and the virus begins to spread on the NBA campus, it would have no problem closing the season.
