Roger Federer, 20 times Grand Slam champion, admits that his wife Mirka has been an incredible support for him over the years and appreciates his willingness to sacrifice some things. Federer’s wife, Mirka, is a former tennis player, but his career didn’t last because he retired at a young age and the whole focus shifted to Federer’s career.
“That’s a good question. I would say that when I wasn’t close to her, she would have interrupted her career with 22 or 23. She invested everything,” Federer said in Sportpanorama on SRF Sport. “He started playing tennis when he was 11 years old.
She had bad surgery and didn’t come back well from rehab. She has always had problems with her heels and has never really recovered from it. To date, little is heard there. I realistically think he would have undergone another surgery and would have tried to return, even if it would have taken 2 years.
“It was easy for her in this way, however, to decide. I said to her: ‘Maybe you don’t want to stop? We could be together all the time and have fun.’ Then I won Wimbledon and when I looked back once I talked to her about it, it’s amazing what you did and she said “No problem”, she just put her career aside and said “This is more important for me.
We can build something fantastic together. ‘

Federer says he would have retired long ago if Mirka asked him to do it
“We would not have been happy when we were separated.
It’s an interesting situation. We should do the interview with Mirka but I know she doesn’t do any. It supported me incredibly and put it back in place, so I can’t wait for it to end. I would have stopped long ago when he wouldn’t have said, “Come on, continue.”
Or when he would say, “Please, stop it, I don’t want it anymore.” I would have stopped then. “We also have to find a balance with the 4 kids, it’s not the same as 4, 8 or 10 years ago anymore, that’s for sure.”
Federer says it will be interesting when one day he goes out to play recreational tennis. “I will definitely play tennis when I am older. I like playing tennis. It will be interesting for me when I am not training. I bet more and just play balls.
This is what I rarely do today, because you always ask a question. It won’t be the case later, so I think it will be an interesting step when I play with friends and think, ‘What am I playing here? It doesn’t matter if the straight works or not. ” ‘
