MU Very Worthy of the Champions League

Manchester

Manchester United ensure themselves qualify for the Champions League next season. Bruno Fernandes stressed that the Red Devils are indeed worthy of playing in Europe’s highest competition.

MU managed to seal a place in the Champions League next season, after a 2-0 win over Leicester City in the last week of the Premier League on Monday (7/27/2020) early morning hrs. The victory made the Red Devils finish third in the Premier League standings with 66 points.

This achievement is clearly a positive signal for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad. Because, last season MU failed to ensure a place in the Champions League and had to settle for fighting in Europe’s second caste, the Europa League, since the start of the 2019/2020 season.

MU escape into the Champions League helped make Fernandes grateful. The Portuguese star admits that his team has struggled all season and is well worthy to show off in Europe’s highest competition.

“We deserve to be in the best match, the best European competition. It’s not to humiliate the Europa League, but everyone knows that the best competition is the Champions League,” Fernandes told MUTV, reported from Omnisport.

“We feel happy, that is what we want: We are training hard and we are working hard for the moment. We know the only thing we can achieve this season is to penetrate the Champions League, so we fight hard for that,” Fernandes added.

“However, we are not happy enough because we know this club and the players can bring more for the club. I think we have enough quality to fight for several titles – more than one title.”

“You know? I think we need to win some trophies and then we will be really happy,” Fernandes said.
