Massachusetts PGA TOUR event to be held without fans

The PGA TOUR will return to Massachusetts after a year away next month, but it will do so without fans.

On Monday it was announced that the Northern Trust, the first FedExCup playoff event, will be held without spectators “out of an abundance of caution due to the ever-changing dynamics of the COVID-19 pandemic.”

The event alternates every year between New Jersey and TPC Boston in Norton, Massachusetts.

Fans who have already purchased tickets will receive a full refund.

The tournament, which will air on The Golf Channel and CBS, will run from August 20-23.
