Legitimate! Pol Espargaro Replaces Marquez at Repsol Honda

JEREZ, KOMPAS.com – After some time as rumors, Pol Espargaro finally officially joined Repsol Honda. Pol will be a Marc Marquez tandem for two seasons, namely 2021-2022.

“Honda Racing Corporation is pleased to announce the signing of Pol Espargaro,” HRC wrote a statement quoted by MotoGP.com, Monday (07/13/2020).

“The former Moto2 World Champion will join the Repsol Honda Team on a two-year contract. He will join eight-time World Champion Marc Marquez on a Honda RC213V,” Honda wrote.

Pol’s announcement of moving to Repsol Honda at the same time brought new news for Alex Marquez. According to rumors, Marc’s sister will move to the LCR Honda satellite team to replace Cal Crutchlow.

“Espargaro is one of the most experienced racers on the grid, he has been racing at the world championship since 2006 with a total of 104 races at the Grand Prix,” Honda said in an official statement.

As for Alex, who was replaced by Pol at Repsol Honda, announced that he had signed a two-season contract with LCR Honda through social media.

“Very happy to be able to announce my renewal (contract) for two years with the Honda LCR family,” Alex wrote on the official Instagram account quoted Monday, (7/13/2020).
