Highly acclaimed Brockermeyer twins are committed to Alabama Crimson Tide football

Alabama added two top 100 commitments to its 2021 class on Friday as the five-star offensive against Tommy Brockermeyer and twin brother James announced their commitment to the Crimson Tide.

Tommy is number 2 overall, a 6-foot-6, 280-pound device that Alabama has chosen over Texas, Clemson, LSU and Auburn.

“Alabama is just a program that I couldn’t ignore,” said Tommy. “Their history and tradition of developing NFL duels and winning tradition is different from any other school. I also wanted to challenge myself to play against the best competition in college football.”

James, the No. 99 prospect overall, is a 6-foot, 3, 255-pound center that Alabama has chosen over Auburn, Texas and LSU.

“The winning tradition there is second to none, along with an unreal strength and conditioning program,” said James. “Everything coach [Nick] Saban has done that it is second to none and they are an offensive line factory. “

The brothers are both from the All Saints’ Episcopal School in Fort Worth, Texas, and are closely associated with the University of Texas soccer program. Her older brother Luke is currently playing for Texas. her father Blake was an All-American for the Longhorns in the 1990s; and her grandfather Kay also played in Texas.

It seemed early on that the Longhorns were the team to beat, but as the recruitment process continued, Alabama continued to gain momentum.

As twins, both said it was very likely that they would end up in the same school, even though they would go through the recruitment process as two different prospects. This added a layer to their recruitment as they had to try to find the right place for two people instead of just one.

“It’s probably more difficult because it’s two different people looking at the same stuff,” said James. “So it is obviously more difficult to address two people than to find one person.”

Alabama was able to convince both brothers that Tuscaloosa was the right place, and now the two ESPN 300 offensive linemen are contributing to the already successful months on the recruitment path for Saban and his staff.

The Crimson Tide has made 10 ESPN 300 commitments since May, including three five-star prospects with Tommy Brockermeyer. Companion JC Latham, number 9 in the class; and defensive end of Dallas Turner, the No. 13 recruit overall.

Alabama was ranked in the top 25 in the class ranking in early May, but has grown steadily since the coaches added talent to the class. Before these two commitments, Alabama was in 13th place overall. It is likely to rise with the Brockermeyers on board now.

The coaches now have 12 ESPN 300 commitments in the LSU and North Carolina class, only behind Ohio State at 15.
