It has already been reported that the third training runs scheduled for Saturday were canceled due to the rain, and the qualifying race, which started with the safety car going to the track by checking its coverage, was also delayed.

Hamilton finished his fastest lap on the 4,318-kilometer Red Bull Ring in Spielberg in a minute and 19,273 seconds, winning the F-1 record-breaking 89th qualifying victory.

Red Bull spokesman Max Verstapen, who was superior in the second training session on Friday, will start on Sunday. He was 1,216 seconds behind Hamilton and third with 1,398 seconds behind the winner was Carlos Sains of McLaren.

In the second row next to Sains, the winner of the first stage Valter Botass from “Mercedes”, who finished the second stage in the first stage of the week a week ago, will start the race on Sunday.

Renault driver Esteban Okons will take the fifth, and Lando Noriss (McLaren) will take the sixth.

Daniel Rikjardo (“Renault”) will start ninth on Friday after an impressive crash on Friday – ahead of world champion Sebastian Fettel from Ferrari.

With only two minutes left in the first qualifying session, his Alfa Romeo rider was not overtaken by Antonio Giovinac, looking at his formula and putting red flags on the track. However, his teammate world champion Kimi Reiken did not reach the second qualifying round, ranking 16th.

The biggest surprise of the second qualifying round was that Ferrari driver Charles Clecker remained in 11th place, 0.083 seconds behind the third qualifying round and teammate Sebastian Fettel.

It has already been reported that the third training runs scheduled for Saturday were canceled due to heavy rain.

The fastest in Friday’s training races was Verstapen, who ran the 4,318-kilometer track in one minute and 3,660 seconds, 0.043 seconds ahead of Valters Botas from Mercedes, and lost 0.217 seconds faster to Serhio Peress (Racing Point).

Fourth place went to Peres teammate Lens Strols, followed by Carlos Sains (“McLaren”) and Lewis Hamilton (“Mercedes”).

Only the ninth and 16th place after Friday’s training races are occupied by both Ferrari drivers Charles Clecker and Sabastian Vettel, respectively.

Last weekend, the first stage of this season took place on the Spielberg track. Botass turned out to be the fastest, but Lekler finished second.

After two stages in Austria, the next stage is expected in Hungary on 19 July.

A record number of races were planned for this season (22), but due to the pandemic, the organizers have decided to stick to 18 stages.

Last season, Hamilton was crowned world champion, triumphing for the sixth time in his career and for the third time in a row.
