Ole Gunnar Solskjaer praised the quality of Mason Greenwood, which has been on fire lately. Greenwoood is even believed to be ready to defend the England national team.
Greenwood again highlighted thanks to his slick performance when Manchester United hit Bournemouth 5-2, Saturday (07/04/2020) night WIB yesterday. Greenwood made two goals and was named man of the match.
A pair of these goals make Greenwood has collected 17 goals in all competitions this season, eight of which were made in the Premier League. No young player has good statistics like Greenwood at the moment.
What Greenwood achieved at the age of just 18 years was only ever done by Michael Owen, Robbie Fowler, and Wayne Rooney. Looking at the current statistics, Greenwood is predicted to have a bright future.
Even Solskjaer is optimistic that Mason Greenwood can be called up to the England national team with his current appearance. Top players like Owen and Rooney even started their careers with the Three Lions before they turned 20 years old.
“When you play for Man United, I think it has been a good and difficult test,” Solskjaer was quoted as saying Sportskeeda.
“If you can play for Man United with the pressure, you can play in any team and Mason has qualities that many players don’t have,” he continued.
“So he could have played for the senior English national team or the Under-21 team, I don’t mind. I know he looks good with us and is happy to have him here. Mason is an accomplished finish, so he can always make goals. He is humble, want to learn, listen and work hard. “
Mason Greenwood has so far only appeared in England at a young age, including the Under-21 team with 4 caps and one goal since 2019.
