Giannis Antetokounmpo will wear “Equality” on the back of the shirt during the restart

Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo will wear one of the 29 social justice messages approved on the back of his shirt during the NBA restart.

According to ESPN’s Malika Andrews, Antetokounmpo will have the message “Equality” on his shirt, as well as his brother and teammate Thanasis.

On July 3, NBA and NBPA agreed on the list of messages that can be used for reboot, according to ESPN’s Marc J. Spears.

The Black Lives Matter movement grew this summer in the wake of the death of black men and women such as George Floyd and Breonna Taylor.

Antetokounmpo helped with the cause while attending a Milwaukee protest with some teammates in June.

As a MVP in charge, Antetokounmpo using a message on his shirt could help promote much needed social reforms. Antetokounmpo has continued to grow its stardom and, among the top five players, its platform is one of the largest in the NBA.

The Bucks have the highest record in the league standings in the second half. Milwaukee’s first seeding match will be on July 31st against the Boston Celtics.
