Karim Benzema seems to have to answer for the judge. The French prosecutor’s office is requesting a complicity trial for attempted blackmail. The Real Madrid star is suspected of helping someone extort his ex-teammate Mathieu Valbuena with a sex video.
Nowadays the Benzema goes for the wind in a sporty way, but a story from the past now brings him again in narrow shoes. The whole affair has been going on since 2015 and Karim Benzema lost his career with the French national team.
Valbuena, then teammate of Benzema with the national team, had to pay a friend of Benzema 150,000 euros to prevent a sex video from him from being made public. Benzema has always denied his role as an intermediary and he also tried unsuccessfully to have the investigation annulled at the Supreme Court.
The French prosecutor now requests a trial 5 years later. Together with Benzema, the prosecutor also wants to see 4 other people from the football environment in court.
