Four games a day in the group stage; Kick-off times between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. GMT; Final on December 18, 3 p.m. GMT

FIFA has announced that four games will be played every day in the group stage of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The group games will be played over a period of 12 days, with the games only being assigned to specific venues after the draw in March 2022, in order to choose optimal kick-off times for television audiences in different countries and for fans in Qatar.

Kick-off times for the first two rounds of play are 1 p.m., 4 p.m., 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. local time (10 a.m., 1 p.m., 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. in Great Britain). The stadiums are all within a radius of 60 kilometers. Supporters and the media can realistically attend two games on the same day.

Kick-off times in the final round of group matches and knockouts are at 6:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. local time (3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. UK time).

For all games except three, there is a three-day rest period in between.

The 2022 World Cup final will be held in the Lusail Stadium in Doha, which is yet to be built

The opening game of the tournament will be played on Monday, November 21st at Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor in a game in which the host country will be represented.

The final venue in 2022 is the Lusail Stadium in Doha. The flagship game will be played on Sunday, December 18, at 6 p.m. local time (3 p.m. UK time).

A start date for the European section of the World Cup qualification has not yet been fixed. The announcement will be made two years after the 2018 World Cup final.
