Dreams of Devin Booker, 3 & D Draft Prospects and more

-Many unhappy stars bind to the Knicks, but none seem to get to Mecca. If fans want to keep dreaming, they can look west. Marc Berman of the New York Post reported that Devin Booker would be “the player to watch out for most” in terms of an unhappy stallion potentially arriving in New York. Leon Rose is Booker’s old agent and the former Kentucky Wildcat knows Booker well. The suns have been bad during Booker’s entire term, and there is some concern about his defense and ability to contribute to victory. But there’s no question about Booker’s talent and scoring ability, and he made a jump as All Star last year. It may be difficult for Knicks fans to hope, but there seems to be at least a small chance Booker is a Knick someday.

Berman had some other interesting points about the potential stars Rose could get. He said the same of Karl-Anthony Towns as he did with Booker, although hiring Tom Thibodeau would have damaged the team’s chances of acquiring Towns. Berman also noted that although Damian Lillard is perfectly happy in Portland, it is believed that if he were to ask for an exchange, it would be for the Knicks or Lakers. You can read more about this, as well as thoughts about the guards the Knicks could draw such as LaMelo Ball, Tyrese Haliburton and Kira Lewis Jr., in Berman’s latest mailbag.

-It is no secret that the Knicks are looking for a shooter. The team’s distance last season has been terrible and has prevented the development of younger players. With the 27th and 38th overall picks in the NBA 2020 Draft, Leon Rose has the perfect opportunity to find these free players. Our Kris Pusiainen wrote about one of these Arizona players, Josh Green. The serial number is a solid 3&D perspective with a good feeling for the game. Kris wrote about how Green could potentially adapt to RJ Barrett and the rest of the young Knicks core.

Maybe even better 3&The candidate for draft D is Saddiq Bey from Villanova. The former Wildcat is an excellent shooter, a solid defender and can play pick and roll. While Bey’s athleticism and positive side don’t reach that of other players, you know exactly what you’re getting out of him: a fantastic free player. Kris wrote his draft scouting report on Bey and discussed the chances of the Knicks acquiring him.

-William Wesley is officially part of the Knicks front office, but has had influence on the franchise for some time. According to Marc Berman of the New York Post, James Dolan has been receiving advice from World Wide Wes for 15 years. Wesley pushed the organization to get rid of former general manager Glen Grunwald and bring Steve Mills back. While that decision clearly didn’t work, there have been many people across the league who praise what Wesley will bring to New York. For more information on Wesley and his relationship with Dolan, you can read Berman’s article here.

-It has been a difficult year for so many people so far, but our Lauren Russell has one thing to cheer you up: Mitchell Robinson playing basketball against young children. The Knick posted an Instagram video of him dribbling with two little boys trying to take the ball away from him, and you can see him in Lauren’s most recent check-in on social media. There are other fantastic content released by Knicks players, such as Reggie Bullock in a video for Pride Month and players like Bobby Portis and Damyean Dotson who work in the gym. You can see all these posts and more in Lauren’s article.
