Does Taysom Hill Deserve a Place Among the Fastest QBs in the NFL?

SALT LAKE CITY – Madden, Madden, on the wall, which is the fastest QB of all?

The answer seems obvious to football fans, but just in case you’re wondering who is the fastest quarterback in the league, the Madden NFL 2021 ranking has sparked the debate.

It’s Lamar Jackson.

Surprise! Not really.

The biggest surprise for some might be who else is in the top five in the QB speed rating for video games.

Kyler Murray? Of course.

Marcus Mariota? Absolutely.

Tyrod Taylor? Him too.

Oh, yes, and don’t forget the Swiss knife from New Orleans. Yes, Taysom Hill made the cut, even finishing third.

Surprisingly, some people did not believe what they had just read on the Internet.

“Taysom Hill is faster than Mariota AND Tyrod ???? Impossible,” wrote one person in response to Madden’s tweet.

This, from another skeptic: “Taysom Hill 90 speed? Come on, dawg. Brodie is not that fast. You’re going to tweak. “

One guy said it was “hilarious” that Madden ranked Hill faster than Mariota. And another NFL fan refused to believe that the former BYU QB is faster than Deshaun Watson or Russell Wilson.

“I’m not buying this game,” he wrote. “It will go on sale a month after its release.”

Others came to Hill’s defense, telling the aforementioned fan that the Saints’ playmaker is “Wayyyy faster.”

Former BYU offensive lineman Parker Dawe also spoke with personal testimony.

“I played with Taysom at BYU,” he tweeted. “Dude ran a 4.42 40 on professional day, crouched over 600 pounds, cleaned power almost 400 pounds. All of his stats are turned off on Madden. He’s faster and more explosive than expected.”

Some Hill supporters have brought different statistics to back up Madden’s notes. @RoccoMendenhall shared a video that showed how Hill is the fast field player for the Saints and made more than 20 mph during a Wildcat game.

Another BYU fan threw 40 times the proof of the players that Hill belongs. (The hours check, by the way.)

This gave rise to fun (and sweet) conversations about garbage.

“How many people are out of the league because they relied on their combine number ???” @ SolesOut88 asked.

Response from Chappy: “Ask Texas.”

As the video it later shared suggests, Texas may not want to answer the question after recalling what Hill did to them during his stay in Provo a few years ago.
