The Chicago Bears had a difficult decision to make for this offseason. This implied who they should keep inside the linebacker. Do they stick with longtime starter Danny Trevathan who is nearing his thirties? Or are they going with the young gun Nick Kwiatkoski who played the best football of his career in the last season? In the end, the Bears decided to stay with Trevathan. Kwiatkoski, although disappointed, did not wait long to find his new home. He signed a three-year contract with the Las Vegas Raiders.
It couldn’t happen to a better guy. Well-deserved. However, the offseason did not go like him or anyone else. The COVID-19 pandemic forced the NFL to cancel both minicamps and OTAs. The players stayed at home for months. This caused major concern among the teams. How many guys could keep fit without having access to the team facilities? Head coach Matt Nagy himself has expressed such concern on several occasions.
According to a recent Instagram post, it seems that Kwiatkoski has encountered such a problem. Or at least, the photo gives this aspect. The linebacker was in a boat with his girlfriend, former teammate Mitch Trubisky and his girlfriend. At first glance, it seems that Kwiatkoski did not gain enough weight.

Nick Kwiatkoski just got that body type or got lazy
All of this could be a simple misunderstanding. It may be Kwiatkoski’s body type. On the other hand, he may have abandoned his training routine due to the COVID situation. Maybe he appreciates the extended offseason a little too much. Especially after getting this new lucrative contract. It’s hard to say. We hope this is not the case. It wouldn’t be the best first impression on his new team.
I hope this is just a photo tour. Otherwise, the Bears’ decision to continue keeping it already seems smart enough. Training camp is scheduled to start on July 28. Chances are there will be rumbles about the Raiders’ pace if something goes wrong.
