Spanish football grand Real Madrid will have to do without forward Mariano Dias, who was diagnosed with Covid-19 on Tuesday, in the UEFA Champions League quarter-final match against Manchester City.

On the Real team on Monday, all footballers tested Covid-19 after returning from the holidays, but only the analyzes submitted by Dias showed infection with the virus. The season for the Madrid club ended on July 19 and since then the footballer has not been in contact with other members of his team.

“The player feels healthy and observes self-quarantine at home,” the club said in a statement.

Dias confirmed the same in a video address on his social networks. “I feel completely healthy. My family and close friends also feel good. I am at home right now, but I hope to be able to join my teammates soon, ”the attacker said in the published video.

The “Real” UEFA Champions League response game is scheduled for August 7. The Madridians gave up 1: 2 in the first duel at home.

It has already been reported that Real won the local championship in the penultimate game on July 16, returning in honor of the winner after a three-year break.

Madrid’s “Real” for the Spanish champion crowned 34 times, the last time in 2017. In the last two years, “Barcelona” climbed the champion’s throne, with 26 gold medals and the first championship title in 1929.

Over the last 15 years, only Madrid’s Atletico, which triumphed over La Liga in the 2013/2014 season, has been able to upset the dominance of both teams.
