“Coolest Young Kid”: Shaquille O’Neal confronts his former teammate with LeBron James and Kobe Bryant

As Shaquille O’Neal reunited with his former teammate Penny Hardaway on NBA on TNT, he had some interesting stories to share. For O’Neal, Hardaway was as good as any other player he played with. If it weren’t for the injuries, Shaq thought, people would have talked more about Hardaway.

“Penny is a mix of all the other guys I’ve played with. Sometimes, he was like D Wade because he could simply take over the game. He’s a bit like LeBron (James), he’s a great passerby. Whenever I wanted the ball, every time I ran on the floor, I always took the ball. We never had problems. And he had that kobe killer instinct (Bryant). And I hate to see his career cut short due to injuries. If he hadn’t had any injuries, people would surely have heard his name more. Penny has been the coolest kid ever since I saw D Wade, LeBron and Kobe. ” He said.

Shaquille O’Neal once quarreled with Penny Hardaway

During the session, Shaq also recalled an accident when he quarreled with Hardaway. O’Neal said Hardaway didn’t like one of his commercials. It was a shoe commercial where Shaq would trample Lil ‘Penny.

“Penny and I fought and I’ll tell you what happened” Shaq said. “I was dating a new shoe on the Super Bowl weekend. And the spot was me walking on Lil ‘Penny. That guy was so mad at me that he hasn’t talked to me for three weeks. “

O’Neal and Hardaway have played together for three years in Orlando Magic. Hardaway joined the NBA when Shaq had just won the NBA Rookie of the Year award. Together, they led the Magic to consecutive playoffs and an NBA final. In 1996, O’Neal left Magic and began a legendary career. Hardaway, on the other hand, has had his career disturbed due to injuries.

Haraway remained with Magic until 1999 when she moved to Phoenix Suns. He later played for the New York Knicks and ended his career after reuniting with Shaq at the Miami Heat in 2007. Hardaway is currently coaching Memphis Tigers in the NCAA.
