“But I perfectly understand where Frank Lampard is from, he hasn’t had a particularly good season and the result is that if you have a fight with the manager in any way, it’s a slippery track.
“So I can fully understand that Frank basically wants to go up that level and say ‘look, listen, it’s not just for me, I want someone else.’
“In that case, there will be a problem as the club has paid out so much money for him.
“I don’t think they will be able to recover that money, they may be able to recover some.
“The goalkeeper can make it very difficult for Chelsea by saying, ‘If you want to get me out of the team, I will sit here on these huge wages and will forfeit my contract for nothing.’
“So I think they have a big decision to make.”
