Veteran quarterback, who is said to have signed a one-year contract with New England in late June, shared a photo of himself via Instagram with a cup of coffee and what appears to be the Patriots’ playbook on Tuesday. .

The Patriots have a notoriously complex game manual, and it looks like Newton is discovering it after nine seasons in Carolina.
Our Tom E. Curran reported that there was “no concern” in New England that Newton would not master his new offense, however, and the 31-year-old QB already digging in his playbook helps explain this trust.
Newton also scored Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman, the team’s longest running offensive player (not including special teammate Matthew Slater). Edelman replied on Instagram with his own recognition that discovering the New England game book is like deciphering a delicate mathematical problem.
If Newton can regain full health after undergoing foot surgery in the off season and resume the offense quickly, that should translate into a successful season for the triple Bowler Pro and the 2015 MVP NFL.
