Bryson DeChambeau is HUGE – why doesn’t anyone ask the obvious question?

golf these days and it's one of the few sports that's back in action now, I've been watching quite a bit of the PGA Tour lately." data-reactid="16">Because nowadays I enjoy playing golf and it is one of the few sports that is back in action, lately I have seen a lot of PGA Tour.

And the great – and I mean literally BIG – story is Bryson DeChambeau. And while many of us are constantly trying to lose weight, this guy has risen to no. 2 of the money list gaining strength and weight.

Much weight. You can find stories that say he has put on £ 40 since last season and many that say he added “at least 20 pounds of muscle” during the three-month hiatus of the COVID-19 Tour.

You know, I’ve often heard these stories of athletes adding several pounds of muscle in a short amount of time, but most people in the body building industry will tell you that adding 25 pounds of muscle in a whole year is extremely difficult.

And this man added 20 in three months? They are many protein shakes.

This is a player who once won the NCAA title and the American amateur in the same season for £ 200. It is now somewhere around 240 and after its victory in Detroit last weekend, listed as No. 1 of the 323-yard driving distance tour.

DeChambeau has always been a controversial player on tour because he is eccentric and sounds different than most of his counterparts. All his clubs, even his wedges, have the same length and use a single-story swing. He was nicknamed “The Mad Scientist” because of his analytical approach to the game. As a fan of the late Moe Norman, I’ve always liked him.

He has gotten stronger, he says, thanks to his work with strength guru Greg Roskopf and his MAT, Muscle Activation Technique.

OK. But let’s become real for a moment.

I’m sure the MAT program is good enough, but why doesn’t anyone question this almost incredibly rapid weight and strength gain?

Baseball team with this sort of body transformation, the accusations would be flying in his direction." data-reactid="26">Dude, if he showed up in spring training for a major league baseball team with this kind of body transformation these days, the charges would have flown in his direction.

baseball players and their possible reasons for their suddenly imposing physical presence. But we've come a long way since those days." data-reactid="27">I remember a couple of decades ago when sports writers were accused of burying their heads in the sand or simply hiding out for baseball players and their possible reasons for their sudden physical presence. But we have come a long way since those days.

The PGA claims to test drugs that improve performance, but I assume that someone known as “The Mad Scientist” may have access to substances that would not be present on an average PED screen.

I have no evidence and I have never met the man. I am not accusing, I am only asking: how is this possible?

The only time I saw a rapid increase in weight and strength like this was with athletes using some sort of supplement.

Is DeChambeau doing this without chemical help? If so, it’s an incredible story.
