BREAKING: Zulte Waregem has bit ex-Club player, can he relaunch career in Belgium? – Football news

It has been in the air for a while, but it is now (as good as) officially around: Zulte Waregem has bit a new defender.

UPDATE 10:18 PM: The deal was confirmed and officialized by Zulte Waregem. “I am already looking forward to meeting all fans of Essevee,” said an enthusiastic De Bock on the Essevee website.

Laurens De Bock will join the ranks of Zulte Waregem. He signed a lease with Essevee, with an option to purchase.

The left back with a past at Lokeren, Club Brugge and Ostend is rented out for a season by Leeds United.

De Bock started his professional career in Belgium with Sporting Lokeren, having previously played for the youth teams of HO Kalken and Standaard Wetteren. The left rear decorated a top transfer to Club Brugge for no less than 3.5 million euros in 2013.

At blue-black he had top moments and also lesser moments, after his switch to Leeds United in January 2018, he could never really continue in England. Loans to Ostend, Sunderland and ADO The Hague followed.
