Bayern Munich: Tanguy Nianzou Kouassi comes from Paris Saint-Germain

FC Bayern is pushing ahead with its squad planning for the upcoming season in the Bundesliga. The club announced the transfer of Tanguy Kouassi. Kouassi, 18, is considered one of the greatest defensive talents in Europe. The Frenchman moves from Paris Saint-Germain to Munich on a free transfer. He signed a four-year contract.

“In our eyes he is one of the greatest talents in Europe”, sports director Hasan Salihamidzic is quoted on the Bayern website: “We are sure that he will have a great career with us and is an absolute reinforcement.” Kouassi said he hoped “that I would prevail here and have many missions.”

Kouassi had played 13 competitive appearances with the French serial champion trained by Thomas Tuchel this season despite his age and well-known competition in the defense center, two of them in the Champions League. However, he did not want to extend his expiring contract in Paris. A number of top clubs were considered to be interested, and the Munich team was awarded the contract.

Ex-coach Tuchel regretted the departure of Kouassis. Tuchel said he had a very high opinion of the player. Kouassi was facing a “big, big future,” said Tuchel – and he meant that in his own club. He could not understand the departure and was sad about it.

It remains to be seen how much season Kouassi will actually get at Bayern in the coming season. Most recently, Jérôme Boateng and David Alaba were convincing in the defense center, followed by national players Niklas Süle and Lucas Hernández, who moved from Atlético Madrid to Munich last summer for around 80 million euros. Hernández is still the most expensive access in Bundesliga history. In Paris, Kouassi was also used in the defensive midfield.

After goalkeeper Alexander Nübel, who came from Schalke, Kouassi is Bavaria’s second obligation for the coming season. In addition, the long-term commitment of international Leroy Sané from Manchester City is imminent.
