Victorious on the lawn of Valladolid (0-1), despite the injury of Antoine Griezmann, Saturday during the 36e La Liga day, FC Barcelona have returned to a point of Real Madrid, leader of the Liga, which moves to Granada on Monday. For its part, Sevilla FC took a very big step towards the Champions League, after its victory against the penultimate Mallorca (2-0) on Sunday. Two days before the end of the championship, the Andalusians are fourth on equal points with Atlético Madrid, and above all have a 9-point lead over Villarreal, which receives Real Sociedad on Monday.

Premier League : Chelsea and Leicester lose ground, Tottenham punishes Arsenal

Chelsea conceded a disturbing defeat on the pitch of promoted Sheffield United (3-0) on Saturday at the 35e Premier League day. A setback that could cost the Blues dearly, 3e with 60 points, in the race for the Champions League. Same case for Leicester, 4e with 59 points, which has won just one of its last 5 games. Worse, the Foxes suffered a stinging defeat on Sunday at the relegated Bournemouth (4-1), leaving the way open to Manchester United, who can take third place this Monday night by beating Southampton at Old Trafford.

In the London derby between the historic enemies of Tottenham and Arsenal, it was José Mourinho’s men who won the bet (2-1) and surpassed their victim of the day in the standings. Tottenham returns two points behind 7e place, while Arsenal is 9e, two lengths from the Spurs.

• A league : Juve and Atalanta neutralize each other, Lazio no longer responds

Juventus Turin, the irremovable leader of the Italian championship, was heckled on its lawn by Atalanta Bergamo (2-2), Saturday during the 32e day of the championship, and could only save the point of the draw thanks to a penalty scored by Cristiano Ronaldo in the 90e minute. A result that still allows him to widen the gap a little more on his Lazio dolphin.

Second in the ranking, Lazio Rome, 8 points behind Juve, is down. Simone Inzaghi’s men recorded their third defeat in a row by losing at home to Sassuolo (1-2). A setback that allows Atalanta, future opponent of PSG in the quarter-final of the C1 [programmé le 12 août à 21h], to return to a point of the Romans. Monday, the day will end with the match between Inter Milan (4e) and the Torino (16e). In case of victory, the Milanese would return to the height of Lazio.
