Atlantic notes: T. Johnson, Beasley, Knicks, Raptors

The Nets, who are already missing seven players on their list of 15 men this summer, are also currently without a guard Tyler Johnson, which was signed by the club during the transaction window in late June.

Director of networks Sean Marks He said today that Johnson did not accompany the team to the Walt Disney World campus for personal reasons, according to Brian Lewis of the New York Post (Twitter link). However, Marks added that Johnson will join the club in a few days.

When Johnson reports to the NBA campus in Orlando, he will have to go through a six-day quarantine period, testing the coronavirus negative several times before he is allowed to practice, Lewis adds a separate tweet. That longer quarantine period applies to any player who arrives after his team has already traveled to Disney and gone through his initial 36-hour quarantine period.

  • Raptors recruit Council of Hernandez, who had been sidelined since December due to severe ankle sprain, is with the Orlando team and will be healthy enough to play this summer, SLAM’s Austin Kent tweets. Hernandez is unlikely to play significant minutes, but will provide greater depth of field.
