Arsenal morning headlines as Barcelona sees Guendouzi swap deals, breaking news on Aubameyang’s future

Here are the Arsenal morning headlines for Sunday 19 July.

Barcelona to approach Guendouzi

Matteo Guendouzi is ready to leave Arsenal this summer and Barcelona are ready to offer the unfortunate Philippe Coutinho in an exchange agreement with the French midfielder.

This is according to a report in the French outlet Foot Market which outlines how the deal could fit all four parties.

Coutinho will probably return to the Premier League this summer and the Gunners are among the clubs interested in the former Liverpool star.

Guendouzi, meanwhile, has not been involved under Mikel Arteta since the defeat of Brighton and Hove Albion last month and some reports suggest that he will move out this summer, with avid fans of the Catalan club.

Arteta talks about Aubameyang’s future

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored both goals in Manchester City’s semi-final on Saturday at Manchester City and Mikel Arteta has now talked about the forward’s future.

Gabon’s international summer is out of contract in North London next summer and speculations about its future are full of suggestions that the club could cash it out this year if it were to show its intention to move forward.

“I think when everyone has good and beautiful moments, they are always better than bad moments,” Arteta replied when asked if the attacker would be convinced to stay, in quotes football.london.

“When I talk to him, he seems quite convinced, but obviously if he can see that the success and the direction we are taking is the right one, I think it will be more positive.

“When things don’t go well, they criticize you. But today he showed on the field – not speaking – on the field.”

Nelson explains the impact of Arteta

Reiss Nelson revealed how Mikel Arteta made Arsenal’s locker room more unified and increased self-esteem in the players.

The winger was one of the main beneficiaries of Arteta’s arrival and scored in the midweek victory against Liverpool.

And Nelson has now explained the impact Arteta has had on the locker room since taking over for Unai Emery earlier this season.

“He definitely brought the locker room very close,” Nelson told BT Sport ahead of Saturday’s clash, as quoted by football.london.

“We understand that we are all good players, we can all do it. It made us believe in ourselves.”
