Arsenal makes the decision to train Matteo Guendouzi and plans talks with representatives

Matteo Guendouzi has not trained with Arsenal’s first team since their defeat in Brighton more than two weeks ago.

This according to The Athletic, which reports that the French midfielder has been omitted from the first team’s training sessions with Mikel Arteta dissatisfied with the player’s attitude and general conduct.

Guendouzi captured the headlines after exiting Brighton frontman Neal Maupay after the Gunners’ defeat at Amex Stadium.

The midfielder was not satisfied with Maupay’s role in Bernd Leno’s injury and expressed his discontent with the full-time whistle, although he did not receive a retrospective action.

Apparently he was punished internally, apparently, with The Athletic reporting that Guendouzi was cut from the first team sessions.

After the Brighton incident, Guendouzi is said to have been called to a meeting with Arteta and technical director Edu, and it didn’t go particularly well.

However, the relationship is stinging due to a series of accidents, according to the report, with Guendouzi also kicked out of the first team following an accident during the February training camp in Dubai.

This time, the 21-year-old was dropped for four games with Arteta who is said to be disappointed by the lack of apologies and his unwillingness to change his behavior.

Many at Arsenal are said to believe he has had enough chances and a summer outing seems likely.

The Gunners are now considered open to a move, possibly using it in an exchange affair this summer.

Guendouzi representatives are expected to meet with club leaders in the coming days to find a solution.

The French international under 21 has been with Arsenal since 2018 when he arrived for Lorient in an agreement worth around £ 7 million.

He has since made 57 league appearances, but it seems that the unfortunate day in Brighton may end up being his last game for the Gunners.
