Aperribay, president of Real, sanctioned three games for belittling the referee

Jokin Aperribay, president of Real Sociedad, has been sanctioned with three suspension matches for coercing Juan Martínez Munuera, collegiate of the meeting in which the San Sebastian team lost against Granada last Friday (2-3). The Competition Committee of the Spanish Federation established this punishment this Saturday, unusual as it is the top leader of a club, for the attitude shown by the businessman at the end of the first part, when the scoreboard indicated a clear visitor victory (0-2).

According to the minutes of the Valencian collegiate, as soon as this period ended and when he was going to the locker room with his colleagues, they met Aperribay. The maximum leader of the Gipuzkoan entity, who has gone from thinking about the Champions League to settling for seventh since he allows the Europa League to play if three previous ones are surpassed, «that he had come down from the box -according to the writing presented by Martínez Munuera- and accompanied us to the door of our locker room with a threatening attitude while repeatedly addressing us in the following terms: ‘This is a shame, we are always the same! ‘«, story.

With this document on the table, the Competition Committee, which met yesterday, rejected the allegations made by the Royal Society. The disciplinary body of the Spanish Football Federation understands that “what is reflected in the arbitration record is not distorted and, rather the contrary, it is confirmed that the President of the club went to the changing room tunnel and made manifestations of inconsideration”, so does not consider that there is a manifest material error in the record of Martínez Munuera. And the Competition Committee continues with its explanation. “From all the writings analyzed, on the other hand, it does not seem that there were threats in the strict sense but rather a mere attitude of deep discomfort and defiance of the president before what he considered an injustice. In any case, it would be an act of unequivocal disregard for the members of the association, and which is more serious as it comes from the president of the club, from whom a greater weight can be expected «.

Therefore, he imposed three suspension matches on Aperribay for attitudes of contempt or inconsideration towards the referees, managers or sports authorities (article 117 of the Disciplinary Code), as well as agreed a fine to the club of 1,050 euros in application of article 52.
