Andre Roberson participates in training

Thunder guard Andre Roberson participated in individual training at the team’s training facility, said coach Billy Donovan on Wednesday during a conference call.

“All our kids have come to work periodically in their spare time,” said Donovan. “Andre was here examining all that stuff.”

Roberson has not played for Thunder since January 27, 2018, when the patellar tendon of his left knee broke.

The Thunder is slated to resume the August 1 season against Jazz. If Roberson plays, he will have passed a layoff of over 900 days since his last NBA game.

“It is difficult for me to give a true assessment of where he is, just because I haven’t seen him play five out of five or something,” said Donovan, “but the hope is to get to Orlando, and once we start training, to have it out there and really find out where it is and how it is.

“In my conversations with Andre, he feels really good. He feels like he’s made really significant progress, so I’m really happy for him who is in a good place and wants to see how he feels once we start playing five five .

Wednesday was the first day that NBA teams could hold individual mandatory workouts. Donovan said that every Thunder player has returned with the team.
