Aliona Bolsova competing in the MAPFRE Tennis League in Platja d’Aro from 15 to 19

The MAPFRE Women’s Tennis League will open from 15 to 19 July with a level poster after the confirmation yesterday of tennis players Sara Sorribes, Girona’s Aliona Bolsova and Lara Arruabarrena, alongside Switzerland’s Jil Betlem Teichmann. The circuit created by the Royal Tennis Federation (RFET) will return women’s tennis after the shutdown by the coronavirus pandemic at the Club Tennis d’Aro, with the aim of helping its players to regain their competitive level facing the return of international circuits.

The poster will have two “Top 100”, such as Teichmann, number 63, and Sorribes (83). In addition, the team will also have six players in the Top-300: Bolsova (102), Cristina Bucsa (176), Núria Parrizas (217), Eva Guerrero (229), the Greek Despina Papamichail (254) and Georgina García Pérez (282). In the previous phase, some outstanding promises will compete, such as the Andorran Victòria Jiménez Kasintseva-Junior Champion of the Australian Open at just 14 years old and currently number 1 in the world-, the Gipuzkoan Ane Mintegi, Paula Arias and Marta Custic.

The MAPFRE Women’s Tennis League will finally have three tournaments, after the cancellation of the scheduled event in Madrid due to the announcement of the return of the WTA world circuit on 3 August. After the Platja d’Aro tournament, the competition will move to the Castellón Tennis Club (July 22 to 26) and the Els Gorchs Tennis Club of Les Franqueses de Vallès in Barcelona (July 29 to August 2) . In addition, the MAPFRE Valor de Tennis League for players from the Top-100 will start at the UP Pàdel & Tennis Cornellà-BCN in Barcelona, ​​the same week from 15 to 19 July, with Jaume Munar and Pedro Martínez as to first favorites.
