Jack Grealish, Aston Villa’s best player, wouldn’t even join the Manchester United team if he moved to Old Trafford.
The 24-year-old has been largely connected with a summer transfer to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team, with his future certainly pending if Villa were relegated to the Championship.
Grealish appeared in Villa’s last defeat on Sunday, 2-0 at Liverpool on Sunday, which left his team rooted in the top three with five games remaining.
Meanwhile United are riding the crest of the wave, three points behind the third after Bournemouth’s 5-2 destruction on Saturday.
Mason Greenwood, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford were all on the scoresheet – as was the new talisman Bruno Fernandes – a quartet that gave United a more offensive balance than when Sir Alex Ferguson retired.
That’s why former Villa striker Darren Bent says United don’t need Grealish.
“I can’t see him joining that United team,” Bent told talkSPORT.

“Just because on planet United there is no way to have them three in the middle of the Fernandes, Pogba and Grealish park because, defensively, they would be hit everywhere.
“I just think that looking at their three front martials, Rashford and Greenwood, it won’t go up there.
“I’m not entirely sure that United needs him in midfield if I’m honest – he has all the skills but he won’t take the place of Fernandes or Pogba and you won’t put him there too – Pogba doesn’t do it” I really want to play holding midfield. “
However, former Grealish mansion manager Tim Sherwood believes that the attacker is exactly what Solskjaer needs.
“If Fernandes was missing again, it’s the connection that unites all those players when they need to find a nice ride – Jack has it.
“He has that drop of the shoulder where he can kick a free kick on the edge of the box and then they fold it in the top corner and then the team has to go out and then they can use the peace players.
“They won’t play three in midfield, they will play on the left side. I keep thinking that they need another center forward
“It’s Manchester United, they’ll end up playing like 55 games a season, they’re always deep in every competition – it’s the United Man that I grew up watching.
“When they took Cole and Yorke, when Teddy went there, you would have said he would never have a game.
“You need players, you need quality in your team, they will be able to rotate it, drop players off the bench to influence it. I think it’s a great film for them.
“Would every game start? Probably not, but it would give Ole the opportunity to rest the other players. “
