A player from Almería and another from Zaragoza have coronaviruses

The ‘Fuenlabrada case’ has been added this Wednesday by two positive ones by Covid-19 in players in Real Zaragoza and in the Unión Deportiva Almería that put in check the affected clubs, LaLiga and their rivals in qualifying rounds to First that can be affected by these cases.

The news coincides, precisely, with the moment when LaLiga was awaiting the resolution of the Federation Competition Committee to study how and when to play those ‘playoffs’ after what happened on the last day of the Second Division. Then, the positive cases in the Fuenlabrada squad forced them to cancel their match on the last day against Deportivo in Riazor, but not the rest of the matches with a unified schedule.

The worst possible news and the worst of times. At the first hour, Almería reported that it has detected in the tests that it has cyclically carried out its personnel -technical and management- the positive for coronavirus of one of its workers, specifically a player of the staff.

The club immediately notified the existence of this positive to the local authorities since the Municipal Sports Board shares facilities with the UDA at the Mediterranean Games Stadium. The Department of Sports has invited municipal employees to return to their homes and to keep them in solitary confinement as long as the measures issued by the health authorities are followed.

Meanwhile, both the club and the Consistory have given orders to carry out a deep disinfection of the sports facilities to avoid any possible contagion after the detection of the positive in the staff. At the same time, UD Almería has suspended training and all members of the staff are at their private homes.

In the early afternoon, after learning of the positive of a Sevilla player in Primera, Real Zaragoza reported that one of the footballers in the first team was infected with Covid-19. Given the viral load suffered by the capital, the club asked to advance the tests scheduled by LaLiga for Tuesday, thus guaranteeing safety in the return to training scheduled for the afternoon of that same Monday. All the results were negative.

On the morning of this Wednesday, however, one of the people who had passed the tests on Monday, woke up with various symptoms compatible with the disease. Immediately, she has contacted the head of the club’s medical services, who has determined to carry out a new control in a health center.

This time, the result has been positive, so the player remains isolated. At the moment, according to the indications of the protocols, Zaragoza has informed the components of the staff that they must remain in home isolation and all training sessions have been suspended. The club blanquillo manages with LaLiga the realization of new tests to all the members of the staff tomorrow. In addition, it reports that the facilities of the Sports City are being disinfected.
