6 veterans on the list of 49ers who need good performance

The 49ers did not have a huge draft class in 2020. They used five picks in the draft, then signed 10 undrafted free agents. A limited person off-season that will shorten before lengthening will make it difficult to integrate these recruits and acclimatize them on a professional level. This means that San Francisco may have to rely a little more on some of its veterans as they head to training camp.

Here are six veterans who stand out as needing solid performance in the camps to consolidate their role or gain a place on the list:

RB Jerick McKinnon

McKinnon needs a large camp for several reasons. After missing the last two years with a knee injury, his contract has been restructured to cut his price and make him a free agent after this season. If he cannot play in the camp, it is unlikely that he will be part of the 49ers team and could miss chances in other clubs. However, if he plays well and has a productive year – he could revive a career temporarily derailed by an injury. A healthy McKinnon could be a pretty crucial part of the 49ers’ offense.
