5 reasons to be optimistic as bears prepare for training camp

As for the training camp, there aren’t many who are confident that the Chicago Bears will be a team that will be competitive in 2020. And that’s probably for the best, given that Chicago has folded under the high expectations of last season. And it’s hard to trust a team coming out of an 8-8 season with major questions about the attack, especially at the quarterback position.

But believe it or not, there is reason to be optimistic about a single training camp before the 2020 season. Yes, even in violation. Defense, of course, remains Chicago’s calling card, but the Bears must return it on offense if they have a chance of making a playoff return.

Here are five reasons to be optimistic as the bears prepare for training camp.

1. Bears QB competition should make the most of Trubisky and Foles

Having a quarterback competition generally indicates that you are not in a good position since your starter is in the air. But in this case, the Chicago quarterfinal battle between outgoing starter Mitchell Trubisky and Nick Foles should produce a better product under the center in 2020. But one of the problems was this unusual offseason, which consisted of a fully offseason virtual and either a shortened preseason or no preseason at all.

Yet the competition tends to bring out the most in people, which is exactly why this quarterback competition should benefit the Bears no matter who wins the job. Clearly, the hope is that it will be Trubisky, given what the bears have invested in him. But at this point, Chicago just needs a good enough quarterback to join this defense. And with starting work at stake, you have to believe that Trubisky and Foles will do whatever it takes to stand out.
