Which TaylorMade irons are right for you?

In general, TaylorMade irons are divided into two distinct categories, the players and the game improvement.

The P700 series offers four different models of game irons while the SIM range offers game improvement and super game improvement.

TaylorMade irons: P7TW

Designed for Tiger Woods, available for you. Tiger’s irons were made in hundreds of hours with TaylorMade developing nine designs, taking years to create the perfect set for the 15-time main champion.

They are designed to reward the consistency of flight with the ball, so focus on workability versus forgiveness or distance. Understandably, they have become quite popular on tour since their release.

TaylorMade irons: P730

Designed for the best ball shooters in the game, the P730 is a true muscle design. These are not designed for forgiveness, so unless you are a low handicap golfer, these are probably not the clubs for you.

“The P730 was designed to consolidate our legacy of major championship winning blade irons, particularly with TPMB ’11 and TPMB ’14,” explains TaylorMade senior director for iron making Tomo Bystedt.

“The overall goal was to maintain the features that were iconic for the TPMB, while improving its performance in two subtle ways: modeling and mass properties.”

TaylorMade P730 irons are one of the most popular on tour.

TaylorMade irons: P760

The P760 has a tour-inspired shape with a progressive design for more forgiveness and distance in the longer irons that optimize the space between the parts of the set.

Personally I love the P760 because the short irons forged in one piece give me feeling and workability while the longer irons give me a boost of the speed of the ball and of forgiveness when I don’t take it perfectly.

“With the P760, we decided to design an iron for tour-level competitions, combining all the elements that are most desirable for the best golfer,” says Brian Bazzel, vice president of product creation.

“The progressive modeling of the P760 allows short irons to be compact and precise while long irons take on a hollow structure, injected with our revolutionary SpeedFoam. P760 is designed to inspire safety if you are attacking short range pins or attacking long range greens. ”

TaylorMade irons: P790

The P790 offers golfers the possibility of a forged iron that has an incredible distance and casting conditions without sacrificing feel or workability.

Numerous tour stars choose to use a P790 iron as part of their iron configuration.
