Warriors could hit these guards for next season

The warriors will enter the 2020-21 season with positional needs to deepen their depth if they intend to run for the title. If Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green are healthy next season, the front office will have to mingle with what they already have by filling in the roster, with new additions that can bring on a limited budget.

At their disposal, the Warriors will have only the medium-level exception of the taxpayer and minimum contracts to be delivered to free agents without restrictions. So what areas are needed to address the list?

A particular area could be their backup protection. As of now, the only substitutes for Curry on the roster are unproven young players in Ky Bowman and Jordan Poole. While the Warriors will have a hard time replacing the role of Shaun Livingston anytime soon, it would be helpful to have at least one veteran to write Curry.

As for Thompson’s backup, the Warriors have a nice piece in Damion Lee and a mostly unknown young player in Mychal Mulder. Adding depth to Lee to be Thompson’s replacement could be essential given the seriousness of the injury Klay is recovering from.

Here is a list of unrestricted veteran guards that Warriors could observe to fill the depth of their guards.
