The son of rare statement – Dagbladet

Michael Schumacher ended up in a brutal skiing accident in the Alps in 2013. The injuries were so severe that he is probably not the same today. Still, we know little about his condition, and the family has not shared much about his health in public.

The family made statements about him last year, but would still not talk much about health. They still provided insurance to the fans.

– You have to be sure that he is in the best hands and that we do everything as a human possible to help him. His health is a sensitive issue, and we hope you understand that we are following his wishes when we keep it private, they told the fans.

Now, however, his son, Mick Schumacher, has made a rare statement. He was also with his father when the accident occurred.

– People saw the magazines and the “known” part of my father, which I absolutely understand. So, he won five straight Formula One championships the year after I was born. It’s incredible, isn’t it? But I never looked at my father as “the world’s best driver,” he says in a post with sponsor Under Armor.

– I hate losing

It is said that Daddy Schumacher lives a secluded life in Switzerland, where he is apparently receiving constant treatment and close monitoring.

– I do not take lessons I have received from him in vain. One of them is keeping the legs planted on the ground – never be too euphoric or too depressed, he writes.

Mick Schumacher competes in Formula 2 today, and has thus followed in his father’s footsteps. He has also been in Ferrari’s academy, driving Formula 1 cars with impressive times.

He admits that he has similarities to his father.

– I hate losing – everything. It doesn’t matter what it is: A simple game, running to a tree, thumb wrestling, he explains.

Received criticism

Several have been critical of the family not opening up more about the state of Formula One legend.

“She’s probably afraid I’m going to see what’s really going on and I’m going to reveal the truth to the public,” Weber said in the documentary “Die Michael Schumacher Story.”

Corinna Schumacher, on the other hand, believes that she does what her husband wants.

“You have to understand that we are only following Michael’s desire to keep something as sensitive as his state of health secret – as we have always done,” she told Mercedes’ magazine according to Danish BT.
