Schalke 04 has obviously imposed an upper salary limit. As reported by the ‘Süddeutsche Zeitung’, players will no longer receive contracts in the future that would bring them more than 2.5 million euros a year.
In the current squad, many players currently exceed this limit; for years S04 has been a lucrative employer in the industry. Now the financially troubled Bundesliga club has to bake small rolls – not least because of the corona crisis.
