Kylian Mbappe has been warned that he would face a battle to break into Liverpool’s early 11th if he ever made a move to Anfield.
This is the vision of the legend of Reds, Bruce Grobbelaar.
The French international has repeatedly been linked to a speculative move on Jurgen Klopp’s side in recent months with his long-term future in Paris-Saint Germain in doubt.
Real Madrid is also said to be interested in signing the World Cup winner, although the coronavirus pandemic may have ensured that the 21-year-old must remain in Paris for at least another season.
And while Mbappe is one of the most extraordinary talents on the planet, the former Reds goalkeeper Grobbelaar believes that he would not necessarily have broken the famous top three of Klopp by Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino.

“Well, if he comes to Anfield he will surely have to prove his worth in advance. And that’s only if and when he comes,” Grobbelaar told Stats Perform News, quoted by Goal.
“We don’t know what the circumstances are. It will be up to Klopp and FSG to reveal something likely in the new season.
“But whoever comes to Anfield, as you can see [Takumi] Minamino, he will have to improve much more to join the team. “
Liverpool are unlikely to move to Mbappe anytime soon because of the finances needed to complete such an agreement.
But having seen his former team win the Premier League in the last league, Grobbelaar believes that any player who doesn’t want to join the Reds should consult a doctor.
“The team is brilliant at this stage, it is up to FSG and Klopp’s consultants who will determine if those players go or stay,” he said. “I, for example, think they will go because they want first team football.
“Listen, right now every player wants to come and play for Liverpool because we are the holders of the Premiership title and whoever doesn’t have to go to the doctor very quickly, because we are the best team and we will be the best team for so many years.”
