Odd and Børven ravaged with Start in goal party

The case is being updated.

Start-Odd 0–5

With last year’s top scorer Børven on the road, and with losses against both Sandefjord and Strømsgodset in the season opening, it has looked dark for Odd. The 4-1 win over Vålerenga last Wednesday, however, gave the club from Grenland new wind in the sails. Saturday the rally continued with 5-0 and two new goals from Børven.

– Two new goals and three points were good. There could have been another goal in the first half there, but two out of three are inside, Børven told Eurosport after the match.

Odd had full control of Start in the first half, and after Børven’s penalty goal right after the break, there was never any doubt that the team would take their second win in a row in the Elite Series.

Markus André Kaasa and Vebjørn Hoff made sure the team led 2-0 at break, and after the rest, Torgeir Børven was able to set his fifth goal of the season as he scored on the penalty kick he had himself acquired before setting another goal, his sixth for the season .

Tobias Lauritsen tied the score at 5-0.

Can lose matches

Two goals for Børven make him alone at the top of the top scorer list in the Elite Series with six goals. Saturday’s match may have been his last for Odd as the transition window closes before Odd plays his next match.

The whole of August can be missed for Børven if Odd and Rosenborg do not agree to a transfer before the window closes, as the Trunders cannot register new players between June 30 and September 6.

– There’s not much I can do about it. I checked the setup in August and there are five games. Of course, there are five games I want to play, but I still think it’s possible to become a top scorer even if I miss them, Børven said of the special situation.

Odd meets Bodø / Glimt July 1st. On the same day, Start plays away to Haugesund. The Southland club is still chasing their first win this season and, with Saturday’s defeat, lost two games in a row.

Cannon from Odd

There was not much that started Starts in the first half. Even the kick off wasn’t right. Several of the Start players were in the Odds halfway before the match kicked off, and it was the first of several errors for the Kristiansands team.

Odd was clearly screwed up at the beginning of the game, and before it was played three minutes the team took the lead. Børven received the ball wrongly in the 16-meter and played out to Kaasa who was on his way through. Alone with the keeper, Kaasa made no mistake and chipped elegantly into Odd’s lead.

Start should have their one big chance in the first half after eight minutes, but after Eirik Schultze headed the ball into the bar after a long throw, it was all about Odd.

Vebjørn Hoff scored in the second round in a row when he easily pushed all the way from his own half before shooting in from 17 yards.

Odd had several great chances to score in the first half, including when Børven came alone with the keeper, but the goal of Odds star tip was waiting.

Børven-double

After the break, it should come loose for Børven. Only four minutes into the second half, the top scorer got the chance from the penalty mark after his ten-meter shot was stopped by the arm of a Start player.

Børven had no problem with the goal, but even though Starts keeper Eirik Wichne went the right way, the shot was hard and high enough to go in.

After 66 minutes, Børven were awarded a free kick as Espen Ruud scampered down the left side. No Start players picked up the race for Børven, who could score his second goal of the day and sixth for the season.

It may have been Børven’s parting with Odd. The 28-year-old signed a contract with Rosenborg which is valid from August 1, but the Trunders are trying to sign the Elite Series top scorer already. The price may not have been somewhat lower after Saturday’s show.
