Abdoulaye Sèye, former president of FIBA is an icon of the history of Senegalese basketball in particular, and that of sport in general. His sporting career started in Senegalese clubs in 1955 1965 as a player, notably at the Foyer France Senegal where he was crowned champion of AOF in 1955. He is also the founder of the Dakar University Club.
He then became international arbitrator, president of the referees commission, president of FSBB, president of AFABA (former name of FIBA), 2nd African president of FIBA, president of CNOSS.
