The destroyed legend of St. Kilda, Nicky Winmar, is considering strict legal action against three podcast hosts because he doesn’t want his grandchildren to believe he is a liar, according to seasoned sports photographer Wayne Ludbey.
Both Winmar and Ludbey are considering their legal options after AFL identities Sam Newman, Don Scott and Mike Sheahan claimed to show Winmar’s iconic gesture on his skin color after a 1993 game – a moment captured by Ludbey Race to do.
This is despite the statement made by Winmar in 2003 that “as a local athlete, I wanted to show that I am human no matter what color I am”.

“I said I was black and I was proud,” said Winmar Age 17 years ago.
Speaking on the You can’t be serious In this week’s podcast, both Newman and Scott suggested that Winmar refer to playing with “heart”, with his point symbolizing a “brave effort”.
Winmar said on Friday Herald Sun. “These white guys tarnish my inheritance”.
“I know what I said, I’m not a liar,” said Winmar on Friday.
Asked on 3AW football Why he takes the matter so seriously to take legal action, an emotional Ludbey said: “Well, I just left Nicky Winmar in his Bayside apartment and he has tears in his eyes. He said, “I don’t want to be known as a liar.” He said, “I have five grandchildren and I don’t want them to grow up and think I’m a liar.”
“I think it’s really important that Nicky and I make a really strong statement about what happened in April 1993. At no time have I ever deviated from my version of events.
“I feel like Sam, Don and Mike have dragged Nicky and me back to 1993 and Nicky has to answer three questions about his heritage, race and way of life on three stands in the stands. I think we really need to be in a strong position. “
Ludbey confirmed that he had hired Leon Zwier from Arnold Bloch Leiber to examine legal options.
“It’s early, we’re eight hours away,” said Ludbey.
