New England Patriots fined $ 1.1 million and lost the draft pick in the film team’s fallout

The NFL fined the New England Patriots $ 1.1 million and, in the 2021 draft, made a third choice among the penalties for its television team playing during a game between the Cincinnati Bengals and Cleveland Browns on December 8th Field and the sideline filmed.

In addition, the Patriots’ television production teams will not be allowed to play games during the 2020 season, and senior club officials will be trained in league operations and game policies.

The NFL also banned David Mondillo, who was suspended from the team at the time of the NFL investigation, until further notice from the NFL facilities. Before the discipline of the league, Mondillo was ended by the patriots.

The patriots admitted that their production teams had filmed the field and sideline inappropriately. The crew was approved by the Browns as ID for a video for a Patriots web series titled “Do Your Job,” but the Patriots did not inform the Bengals or the NFL of what they termed “accidental oversight.”

“The only purpose of the shooting was to demonstrate a pre-scout while working on the street,” the patriots said at the time. “It was not intended to use footage for any other purpose.”

The patriots also said that the production teams, which included independent contractors who made the video, are not part of football operations in New England.

A Patriots spokesman confirmed that the team will not contest the penalties.
