Luis Pérez: ‘It was wrong to leave Rayados to go to Chivas, I could have done more’

Luis Perez considers that one of the worst mistakes he made throughout his professional career was leaving Monterrey to arrive in Chivas in 2012, which at the time was run by the Dutch John van ‘t Schip.

The former midfielder offered a special interview for the 75 years of the Monterrey squad and in it he recalled some of the moments that marked a before and after in his life.

He said that in the rojiblanco team he could not adapt 100 percent, which is why he could never reach an optimal level.

It is important to note that during the time that he was in the Tapatian institution, he suffered several injuries, which did not allow him to have the desired activity.

“It was a wrong decision, I couldn’t adapt correctly, then I suffered several injuries. These are questions that you ponder since you are retired and not in the moment. I was left with the feeling that I could have done something more ”, he mentioned in an interview with RG La Deportiva.

‘Lucho’ had a brief and discreet passage through the Sacred Flock, since he could not score a single goal in the 27 games he played between 2012 and 2013.

After leaving Chivas, joined the ranks of Queretaro and of Jaguars of Chiapas; later, she returned to. Monterrey, team with which he retired on December 13, 2016.

Luis Perez became a benchmark for Monterrey, because in two stages he played 388 matches and scored 57 goals. With those of the Northern Sultana he won three times the MX League and twice the Concacaf Champions League.
