Kieran Trippier claims the derby between Tottenham and Arsenal in North London that Chelsea fans will love

Kieran Trippier has now played in two of the world’s biggest derby games after moving to Atletico Madrid last summer.

Presented in the Tottenham North London derby clash against Arsenal several times after joining Spurs in the summer of 2015, the right back appeared in the Madrid derby for the first time in September.

So how do the two compare?

Well, the British international was questioned about this in the podcast of The Beautiful Game and actually made a request about the North London derby that may not be so well with Arsenal fans.

Given that Spurs and Chelsea were often top challengers during his time in the N17, Trippier said that the games against the Blues looked more like a derby than the Arsenal schedule

“The Madrid derby is so great here,” admitted the former Burnley. “Even when I played for Tottenham, I didn’t feel any disrespect for Arsenal, but I didn’t think it was our main derby.

“I heard it was Chelsea. I probably felt the excitement.

“Don’t get me wrong, Tottenham against Arsenal is a big hit for fans because that’s what it is with them.

“As a player, for me and certainly for some other players, the game of Chelsea was a bigger game for them.

“Madrid is robbing … the pressure. Before every single game the president drops and you don’t see him in England.

“The way he is family oriented in Spain is incredible. The way they treated me, my wife and children, I have full respect for anyone associated with Atletico while they let me play directly here and it was perfect. . “

Trippier has adapted to life in Spain incredibly quickly and has so far made 29 appearances for Diego Simeone’s team.

Kieran Trippier’s summer transfer to Atletico Madrid has so far been a huge success

Given the incredibly rigid demands of Mauricio Pochettino on the training ground during his stay in North London, he has now become even harder for the player.

“I thought Tottenham was brutal with training sessions, but it took it to a whole new level,” admitted the 29-year-old. “I thought I could relax in the sun but none of this!

“Incredible the manager and the way you see him on the sideline is what he likes to train. He doesn’t do it for cameras.

“Always before the games he always walks up and down thinking. He takes everything in training.
