Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios attacked Alexander Zverev and called him “selfish” after German video footage went viral on social media. In the video, Zverev is celebrated in a crowded club in Monte Carlo when he should isolate himself.
Earlier last week, Zverev said he would isolate himself after several players who took part in the controversial Adria tour tested positive for COVID-19, including Novak Djokovic. While Zverev tested negative for the virus, he apologized for attending the events and promised to follow the self-isolation guidelines for 14 days.
On Instagram, Kyrgios Zverev struck saying that the German tennis star should have the “audacity” to isolate himself after announcing it on social media.

The Adria Tour raised a lot of eyebrows because it allowed crowded stalls without social distance norms. Four participants followed, including the organizer and player Djokovic, who tested positive for corona virus. The rest of the Adriatic tour was canceled after the results were released.
Djokovic used to defend himself against criticism of Adria Tour, but apologized after his teammates and he became infected with the virus.
“We believed that the tournament met all health protocols and that the health of our region seemed in good shape for philanthropic reasons to finally unite people. We were wrong and it was too early,” said Djokovic.
