Frank Lampard delivers a double injury update as Chelsea sweats about Christian Pulisics Fitness

Christian Pulisic is judged today after being eliminated in the second half of Chelsea’s 1-0 quarter-final victory over Leicester City with pain in his left calf.

The American winger had been struck by a strange performance from Frank Lampard’s side and excelled in the first half when the rest of his teammates had problems, but said he felt muscle tension during the break in the second half.

He was immediately replaced for Ruben Loftus-Cheek and had an ice pack strapped to his lower leg.

Lampard said that he will be reviewed today, hoping that it will not be something that Pulisic, who has missed all of January and February due to a thigh injury, incapacitates.

Andreas Christensen also missed the win against Brendan Rodgers yesterday due to a minor hip problem.

“Christian felt a little tightness in his calf during the second break, so I took it off immediately,” said Lampard. “We’ll find out how it is the next day.

“Hopefully it won’t upset him because we can see what he’s been doing in the last two games.

“With Andreas he has a little problem in his hip. He tried to train yesterday and didn’t feel well, so he’s not in the squad.”

Pulisic scored in both Premier League wins against Aston Villa and Manchester City.

Chelsea face Manchester United in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley thanks to Ross Barkley’s goal in the middle of the second half yesterday.
