Barcelona face a big order to revive the LaLiga title, while Atletico Madrid head to Camp Nou on Tuesday evening.
Barca’s 2-2 draw at Celta Vigo allowed Real Madrid to bring a two-point lead to the top of the table by beating Espanyol 1-0 on Sunday evening.
The head-to-head record of Real means that they will be champions if they finish drawing points with Barca, so Quique Setien’s team must now earn three points on their opponents Clasico during the run-in.
With Barca out of place and in need of a win, a fit Athletic team is perhaps the last team they would like to face, but Lionel Messi & co. know that there is no room for error.
Start date, place and time
Barcelona vs Atletico Madrid will take place at Camp Nou on Tuesday 30 June, with a kick-off at 21:00 BST.
Prediction: Barcelona 1-0 Atletico Madrid
Considering their formidable away game, Barca will be relieved to return to Camp Nou, where she has only lost two points in 16 LaLiga games this season.
Atletico have won four of their five games since the restart, but scoring goals – only 41 – is their problem this season, and it would not be a surprise to see Messi holding a narrow win for Barca.
