Dustin Poirier, Dan Hooker set record

UFC on ESPN 12 closed the five-week series of events at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, and the card offered some historic moments.

Dustin Poirier (26-6 MMA, 18-5 UFC) added to his main event legend when he produced another classic for his resume in the form of a unanimous win over Dan Hooker (20-9 MMA, 10-5 UFC)) who played all five rounds even though he did not reach the scorecards.

General

UFC on ESPN 12 showed four submissions in the third round, combined with UFC Fight Night 89 for the UFC record in a single event.

The payment of the UFC Promotional Guidelines Compliance for the event totaled USD 117,500.

Debut fighters went to event 1-3.

Poirier, Hooker, Julian Erosa and Kay Hansen earned $ 50,000 UFC on ESPN 12 fight night bonuses.

UFC on ESPN 12 recorded an announced zero attendance for a $ 0 live gate.

The betting favorites went 7-3 on the card.

The betting favorites improved to 10-6 in UFC headliners this year.

The total fight time for the 10-fight card was 1:50:16.

Main card

Poirier has improved to 10-2 (without a competition) since moving up to the UFC lightweight division in April 2015.

Poirier was the 10th fighter in UFC history to achieve 18 or more victories with the promotion.

Poirier is one of eight fighters in UFC history to receive 10 Battle Night bonuses.

Poirier was the first lightweight in UFC history to score 150 or more significant hits in three different battles.

Poirier and Hooker landed together for a total of 390 strikes, the individual combat record for a UFC lightweight fight. Poirier against Max Holloway at UFC 236 held the previous record at 388.

Hooker has dropped to 7-2 since joining the UFC Lightweight Division in June 2017.

Hooker has suffered four of his five UFC losses by decision.

Mike Perry (14-6 MMA, 7-6 UFC) has won his last three victories by decision after starting his career with 11 interruptions.

Mickey Gall (6-3 MMA, 5-3 UFC) has alternated victories and losses in his last six fights.

Gall has suffered two of his three career losses through decision.

Maurice Greene (9-4 MMA, 4-2 UFC) has won seven of his nine career wins through interruptions. That includes three of his four UFC victories.

Greene was the second fighter in UFC history to win a sub-victory by arm-triangle choke from the bottom position. Aljamain Sterling also did the trick.

Gian Villante (17-12 MMA, 7-9 UFC) was unsuccessful in his heavyweight UFC debut.

Villante has been victorious in the heavyweight division since February 2011. In the fight in the weight class, he fell to 6-2.

Villante has dropped to 2-5 in his last seven UFC appearances since May 2017.

Villante suffered the first submission loss of his career.

Kyle Daukaus (9-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC) had captured his winning streak in nine fights for the first loss of his career.

Takashi Sato (16-3 MMA, 2-1 UFC) has won 13 of his 16 career wins through interruptions. Both UFC wins are achieved by knockout.

Jason Witt (17-6 MMA, 0-1 UFC) has lost all six of his career through an interruption.

Erosa (23-8 MMA, 2-4 UFC) was successful for a third stint on his return to UFC. With the promotion, he achieved his first victory since December 2015.

Erosa grabbed his three-man loss for his first win since June 2018.

Sean Woodson (7-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC) had captured his heptathlon winning streak for the first loss of his career.

Preliminary card

Khama Worthy (14-6 MMA, 2-0 UFC) has won his two UFC victories through an interruption.

Luis Pena (8-3 MMA, 4-3 UFC) suffered the first submission loss in his career.

Philipe Lins (15-4 MMA, 1-1 UFC) has lost four of his five career losses due to a break.

Lins has suffered all four of his career losses through knockout.

Hansen (7-3 MMA, 1-0 UFC) has won six of their seven career wins through interruption.

Jinh Yu Frey (9-5 MMA, 0-1 UFC) suffered the first submission loss of her career.

Youssef Zalal (9-2 MMA, 2-0 UFC) won both UFC victories by decision.

Jordan Griffin (18-8 MMA, 1-3 UFC) has suffered all three of his UFC losses by decision.
